3 New ‘Super Mario’ Games To Be Unveiled At E3 2017
Fans of the successful Super Mario Bros. franchise should be looking forward to the next E3 2017 as three new Super Mario games are expected to be presented at the annual event.
Nintendo recently announced plans for E3 2017, and the first of three new Super Mario games will be at the heart of the company’s presence at the event.
First chance to play ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ at E3
Nintendo recently revealed that on the first day of E3 on June 13, it will host a Nintendo Spotlight that will showcase upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo said the event will offer attendees the first opportunity for a playable demonstration for the upcoming Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Odyssey, the first Super Mario game since Super Mario Sunshine was released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube.
In Super Mario Odyssey, players will be able to explore different 3D worlds when Mario leaves the Kingdom of Mushrooms and finds himself in new places. Mario will be navigating through the worlds in an airship and will get new skills, such as being able to launch his iconic cap.
Not much is known about Super Mario Odyssey apart from the fact that it will be released in this year’s holiday season to give a boost to Nintendo Switch sales during the period.
With Super Mario Odyssey expected to be an important part of Nintendo’s plans for E3 2017, players must wait to learn more about the next title during the course of the event.
Bizarre ‘Super Mario’ & ‘Rabbids’ Crossover
The second Super Mario game expected to be unveiled at E3 2017 is a strange cross-over RPG with Ubisoft’s Rabbids franchise.
Confirmed in early May to also have a strange Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle title, the game is being developed on the same Snowdrop engine Ubisoft used for South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The RPG will feature turn-based combat and will offer a local two-player cooperative mode with eight playable characters. The first four characters are Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Peach, and the other four characters are the Rabbids with costumes from the first four characters.
‘Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga’ Port on Your Way?
The third Super Mario title to be announced at E3 2017 is a Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga port, which was first released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003.
Earlier this month, a dataminer saw a new Super Mario game in the Nintendo 3DS eShop titled Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX. The title of the new Nintendo 3DS game, which already had an icon in the eShop, indicates that it will not be a simple port. The game could be a remastered version of the original game, a sequel, or even a complete remake.
No more details are known about Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX, but the presence of its icon in the Nintendo 3DS eShop makes it very likely that Nintendo will soon launch the game, with a possible official announcement in E3 2017.
Nintendo in E3 2017

In addition to the Super Mario games, other titles that are expected to be present in the E3 2017 are Pokémon Stars and a Super Smash Bros game for Nintendo Switch.
